Dr. Monshipouri's research focuses on democratization, human rights and globalization in the developing world. He is the author of Democratization, Liberalization, and Human Rights in the Third World (1995), Islamism, Secularism, and Human Rights in the Middle East (1998) and co-editor of the forthcoming book, Constructing Human Rights in the Age of Globalization (Armonk, NY:M.E. Sharpe, March 2003). He is a Visiting Fellow at the Yale University Center for International and Area Studies and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia (1987).
