Dr. Lowi teaches at the College of New Jersey where she is Associate Professor of Political Science. She has lectured at a number of universities on politics, Near Eastern studies, and public and international affairs. Dr. Lowi is the recipient of the Newcomen Award for excellence in research in Material History, Newcomen Society (Canada). She is the author of Water and Power: The Politics of a Scarce Resource in the Jordan River Basin (1993/95), and co-editor of Environment and Security: Discourses and Practices (MacMillan 2000), and author of numerous articles in refereed journals and edited volumes. Her current work focuses on political development and breakdown in oil-exporting states. Dr. Lowi holds a Ph.D. in politics from Princeton University.
