North Africa, Political Economy

Dr. Henry has taught at such universities as UC-Berkeley, American University in Cairo, the University of Michigan, UCLA, the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and the Graduate School of Business and Management at the American University of Beirut, where he was also director. He is co-editor of the Politics of Islamic Finance (with Rodney Wilson, 2004) and the author of Globalization and the Politics of Development (with Robert Springborg, 2001) and of The Mediterranean Debt Crescent: A Comparative Study of Money and Power in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Turkey (1996), as well as earlier books on Egypt and North Africa. He received a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
