Dr. Denoeux serves as a regular consultant to the Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He has extensive experience designing democracy-building strategies and implementing projects related to civil society, legislative development and rule of law. He has worked in Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Israel, Azerbaijan and Senegal, and has published extensively on Arab politics. He is the author of Urban Unrest in the Middle East (1993) and the co-author (with A. Baaklini and R. Springborg) of Legislative Politics in the Arab World: The Resurgence of Democratic Institutions (1999). Dr. Denoeux received a Ph.D. in politics from Princeton University in 1990.
