Dr. Bechtold has lectured at Johns Hopkins University SAIS, Georgetown University, George Washington University, the University of Maryland-College Park, and the University of Oregon. One of his publications is Politics in the Sudan: Parliamentary and Military Rule in an Emerging African Nation. He holds a Ph.D. in politics and Near East Studies from Princeton University.
