Mr. Wrampelmeier served with the Department of State for over thirty years. His service as a Foreign Service officer included consul general and principal officer, American Consulate General, Dhahran; director, Office of Arabian Peninsula Affairs; deputy chief of mission at American embassies in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi; and service in the embassies in Beirut, Amman and Jeddah. He has a BA in Arabic Studies from Princeton and a MIPP (Middle East Studies) from Johns Hopkins, SAIS. He is a member of the Society for Gulf Arab Studies.
