Formerly an associate professor, department of political science, at Florida International University. Dr. Rubenberg lived one year in the Gaza Strip and two years in the West Bank with continuous re-visits to both. She has published The Palestinians In Search of a Just Peace (2003); Palestinian Women: Patriarchy and Resistance in the West Bank (2001); Israel and the American National Interest: A Critical Examination (1986); The Palestine Liberation Organization: Its Institutional Infrastructure (1982) and numerous scholarly articles and book chapters. She is currently the editor of the Encyclopedia of the Israeli-Palestine Conflict (2007).
