Areas of Expertise Iraq
Dr. Mehdi, originally from Iraq, became a U.S. citizen in 1995. He is currently advisor and board member of various local and international organizations, and has been a professor of Organization and Sociology at St. Cloud State University, Minnesota since 1988. He is a consultant on Middle Eastern affairs for several American and European organizations and specializes in comparative management and complex organization with an emphasis on both the external relationship between the organization and its environment, and the internal process of organizational adaptation and change. He is the founder and chairman of the Union of Independent Iraqis, an international organization that promotes democracy and the replacement of the present government in Iraq. Dr. Mehdi is an internationally recognized speaker and expert on issues involving Middle East, and is frequently interviewed and quoted by local, regional and international reporters. He received a BA in Economics from Baghdad University, holds an M.A. in International Management from Bath University in England and a Ph.D. in Comparative Organizations and Sociology from Ohio State University.
