During his 34-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service, Mr. Keeley has served as a political officer in Jordan, Mali and Greece; as DCM in Uganda and Cambodia; in Washington, desk officer for Congo, Rwanda, Burundi; alternate director for East Africa; deputy assistant secretary for African Affairs; and as an ambassador to Mauritius, Zimbabwe and Greece. He was also the president of the Middle East Institute from 1990-95.
