Areas of Expertise Russian Middle East Policy, Transnational Revolutionary Movements
Dr. Katz is the author of Russia and Arabia: Soviet Foreign Policy Toward the Arabian Peninsula, (1986) and numerous articles on Russian foreign policy toward various Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Israel. He has also written on transnational revolutionary movements, comparing the strengths and weaknesses of Islamic revolutionary movements now with Marxist-Leninist and Arab nationalist ones in the past. He writes a weekly column for United Press International called "Policy Watch."
