Israel Shahak died on July 2, 2001. A survivor of the Warsaw ghetto and the
Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, he emigrated to Israel and became a
tireless human-rights activist -- as well as a professor of chemistry at
Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His published writing included several
books and a great many articles, more than a dozen in Middle East Policy.
Dr. Shahak predicted the catastrophe being played out today in Israel and
the Occupied Territories, as evidenced in the articles below.
