In this clip from our recent conference, Policy Choices for the New Administration, Scott McConnell, founding editor of The American Conservative, observes that the powerful Israel lobby is exhibiting "cracks" and that the Democratic Party and mainline churches are tempering their support for Israel. He thinks that a two-state solution may no longer be feasible and future American presidents will find it hard to maintain a "special relationship" with Israel while Palestinian self-determination is not met.
