With the development of MEPC's new workshop program, we have decided to create a companion website with a new content matrix of background essays, lesson plans, and other educational modules, including multimedia, and make all of this available free of charge to educators worldwide. At our new TeachMideast.org site, we will also integrate innovative new Google Earth technology so that the site's textual and multimedia content is married to an in-depth and interactive geographic literacy platform.
MEPC's educational goals have been enhanced by our acquisition of the NITLE Arab Culture and Civilization site, which includes many content modules in print, audio, video and still image form related to the Arab world. While the site will be maintained in something approximating its original form, we will also incorporate relevant texts and multimedia modules into the TeachMideast site directly.
The TeachMideast.org site is scheduled to launch in November 2008.
