Associate Professor Akbarzadeh is based at the University of Melbourne (Australia) and researches the politics of Central Asia and the Middle East, political Islam, and US relations with the Muslim world. He has an active publishing records (10 books and 22 refereed journal papers). Among his latest publications are a co-edited book on Muslim Communities in Australia, and a co-authored book on US Foreign Policy in the Middle East. He is a prolific op-ed contributor to the Australian press.
