Dr. Carapico serves on the editorial board of Middle East Report (MERIP). She has been a consultant to several international organizations, including the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Human Rights Watch, the Netherlands government, the World Bank and the U.S. government. She is the author of Civil Society in Yemen: A Political Economy of Activism in Modern Arabia (1998) and of chapters and articles on subjects including gender, human rights, political economy and international development assistance.
