The Levant Monitor is a series of occasional brief reports by Dr. Antony T. Sullivan based on privileged information concerning present and possible future developments in the Levant and/or the broader Middle East. These short analyses are based on carefully vetted information from inside and outside the region. Many of these commentaries will not make cheerful reading, nor will they please all readers. The articles will build on work previously published in The National Interest and Middle East Policy. Because of the continuing fragility of the situation in Lebanon, the identities of informants in Lebanon and elsewhere in the Middle East must remain confidential.
