Dr. Dunn has taught courses ranging from Islamic theology to Middle East security and defense issues at Utah State University and at Georgetown University's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies. In addition to other venues he frequently contributes to Middle East Policy and Armed Forces Journal and has been editor of the Middle East Journal since 1998. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic history from Georgetown University.
